Mike comes to visit and we head for Castaway Resort on the outer islands. There is an island chain, Mamanuca's, off the far West side of Viti Levu, the island we live on. There's a smattering of small, walk around them in an hour or so, forested islands each with their own resort. Warm clear blue water, sunny, classic white sand beaches. What a treat!f We puttered in kayaks and the snorkeling just off the beach was filled with colorful fish, blue starfish, huge coral. There was a restaurant that served free pizza all day and, if you can believe it, we only made time to go there the last day before we left. There was so much to do and NOT do. I actually read the entire book "Twilight". (fun frolicking read about a girl dating a vampire) The restaurant had kids dinner from 5:30-6:30 and then scheduled kids activities for an adult dinner from 7-9. What we thought would be sweet family dinners each night turned out to be nice adult conversation, sophisticated food and relaxing time. It was nice that it was planned for us. I don't think we would have thought to take the time from the kids on our own. It was much needed and very enjoyed.
Hard to see, but that's me in the kayak :)
